FAQ
1. What makes raw hair different from virgin or processed hair?
Raw hair is 100% unprocessed human hair sourced from a single donor.
It has not been chemically treated, steam-processed, or altered in any way. Because the cuticles are fully intact and aligned, raw hair blends naturally, lasts longer, and maintains its integrity through multiple installs.
Each bundle may vary slightly in wave pattern and texture — this is normal and confirms the hair’s authenticity.
2. Can I straighten raw wavy bundles and will they revert?
Yes. Raw wavy hair can be straightened, curled, or styled with heat, and it will revert back to its natural wave pattern after washing.
To preserve the hair’s longevity, always use a heat protectant and avoid excessive heat styling. With proper care, the hair maintains its softness and natural movement over time.
3. How long do raw bundles last?
With proper maintenance, raw bundles can last 2+ years.
Longevity depends on how the hair is cared for, how often it is installed, and how much heat or product buildup it is exposed to. Regular washing, proper moisture, and nighttime protection significantly extend the life of the hair.
4. How many bundles do I need for a full install?
The number of bundles needed depends on the length and desired fullness.
-
Lengths 12”–18”: 2–3 bundles
-
Lengths 20”–26”: 3–4 bundles
For frontal or closure installs, most clients prefer 2–3 bundles plus a closure or 3 bundles plus a frontal. Longer lengths require more hair to achieve a full look.
5. Will raw hair shed or tangle?
Minimal shedding is normal, especially during the first wash. Excessive shedding or tangling is not typical when the hair is properly maintained.
To reduce shedding:
- Avoid cutting wefts
- Seal wefts when possible
- Detangle gently from ends to roots
Raw hair tangles primarily when it lacks moisture or has heavy product buildup. Proper washing and hydration prevent most issues.
6. Why does my raw hair look different from bundle to bundle?
Because raw hair is unprocessed, no two bundles are exactly the same. Slight variations in wave pattern, density, and texture are normal and expected.
This natural variation is a key indicator of authentic raw hair and does not affect the quality or performance of the bundles once installed and styled.
